Keeping your well researched documents safe and handy can understandably grow into a massive headache, especially as you delve down deeper into your research, collecting more and more certificates and records. There's also the problem that standard PVC document holders can leach onto the document, lifting their contents onto the plastic. Specialist binders and archival sleeves are therefore increasingly essential, and S&N's latest range looks like a great addition.

The Family History binder is A4 in size and comes in a choice of four smart colours: burgundy, dark blue, dark green and black. The cover is slightly padded, and has a marble-effect print that should withstand a lot of use, and a number of additional inserts can be bought, including acid-free insert cards for an additional £3.50 and a range of A4 sleeves with either two, four, six, or eight pockets: these come in packets of ten and cost an additional £5.95.

The long Certificate binder is also available in burgundy, dark blue, dark green and black. Extras include a pack of ten certificates and tabbed dividers for £3.50. The binders and inserts are of good design and build quality.
