This CD from S&N Data Archive contains a digital version of a Ward and Lock Illustrated Guide Book for Carnarvon and North Wales in the 1920s. Though it isn'ta genealogical resource in the traditional sense, it will still provide you with a valuable insight into your Welsh ancestors' lives.

The main bulk of the PDF is bookmarked chapters for the main settlements in the area such as Carnarvon, Bangor, Rhyl, the islands of Anglesey, and the popular tourist destination of Colwyn Bay, where many of your ancestors from around Britain may have holidayed.

There's plenty of information on each town, from histories to attractions and even railway fares. There are also contemporary pictures and maps on display throughout. You do get hotel and business directories, but these don't contain anywhere near as much detail as conventional trade directories.

The guide is fully searchable, so it shouldn't take you long to see if you can find some fascinating social background on your Welsh forebears, or the experiences of your tourist ancestors.
