Calendar of Wills for London 1358-1688

An invaluable resource, wills, but these - spanning 330 years - also show changing attitudes to death. From William de Wandelsworth (in 1358) to be buried "with 40 pence to be distributed around his corpse" to Thomas Evans (1688), who desired to "lie before his wife's pew in St Alphege's".

Kelly's Directory of Buckinghamshire 1935

As well as being packed full of useful (searchable) information we have come to expect from Kelly's directories, for this (14th) issue, the contents boast extra items on the county's geology and a revised area map. A wonderful snapshot of pre-war Buckinghamshire.
