The Directory of Directors for 1936

The 57th edition of The Directory of Directors was published in 1936 by Thomas Skinner & Co. It lists the directors of principal companies whose securities were traded on UK stock markets, giving the name, address and the companies under their directorship. Some 31,000 directors are recorded - many of whom were directors of companies that are still in existence today.

The level of detail varied depending on the individual's directorships. A typical entry is that for Eric Burt of 91 Ebury Bridge Road, London SW1, who was a director of John Mowlem & Co Limited. Meanwhile, George Mowlem Burt of the same address is shown as a director of that company and of six other named companies.
