This volume includes an overview of London up to 1905 along with a substantial number of biographies of prominent London residents. These start with the Lord Mayor of London and the Lord Bishop of London, before we encounter generic groupings such as the arts and the medical profession.

A typical biography from the CD includes the subject's parents, birth, marriage, career and spouse's parents.

Hence, in the case of Sidney Rowlatt, we learn that he lived in Upper Phillimore Gardens and worked as a barrister at 4 Temple Gardens. Interestingly, while Cambridge educated, Rowlatt was born in Cairo in 1862, and his father is described as late of Alexandria, Egypt. After extensive information about his career, we are presented with details about his marriage, wife, and the number of clubs of which he was a member.
